| | i think it is fair to say that the sports most watched by 港男 are NBA and football, and football is probably more popular among the two. (the 106th criterion of 港女 is utter lack of ability, interest and knowledge in sports). being a bunch of 港英餘孽 or offspring of 港英餘孽, 90% of 港男 support English teams. so for those who don't have NOW TV/ those who have a job to wake up to, the first thing they want to know in the morning is the result of the football match last night.
imagine waking up on the morning of 15 and 16 April, switching on the radio (CRHK) before going to work (8:xx am), and the sports news is about... some mainland chick called 彭帥 who made it through the 2nd round of a tennis tournament in Charleston, USA (took me so long to google that).
1. HK people don't care about mainland sporting achievement except during Olympics when we pretend to be patriotic
2. HK people don't care that much about tennis, except maybe huge matches or involving tennis stars like Federer or Nadal or the Williams apes
3. 2nd leg of quarter finals of Champions League
4. Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal advancing to the semis of Champions League... compared to 彭帥 making top 16 at this tournament
btw, here is the website of the Charleston tennis tournament. i think most HK ppl would probably be more interested in a news clip about 天水圍飛馬...
when it comes to sports, it's probably going to take a good few generations to stifle the 港英餘孽 nature of HK people and i don't think anyone reading this will live to see that day.... God Save The Queen!
